Heard this Jackson 5 song today on the radio. I had to pull over because it is not safe do drive when you have so many tears in your eyes...
"You're my love you're my angel
You're the girl of my dreams
I'd like to thank you for waiting patiently
Daddy's home your daddy's home to stay
How I've waited for this moment
To be by your side
Your best friend wrote and told me
You had teardrops in your eyes
Daddy's home your daddy's home to stay
It wasn't on a sunday (monday and tuesday went by)
It wasn't on a tuesday afternoon (all I could do was cry)
But I made a promise that you treasured
I made it back home to you
How I've waited for this moment
To be by your side
Your best friend wrote and told me
You had teardrops in your eyes
Daddy's home your daddy's home to stay"
I sent my Dad another email last Friday mostly to make sure that he knows that I'm still thinking about him and hoping to hear more from him. I also attached photos of the boys. Yesterday, my Mom gave me a birthday gift to beat all birthday gifts.
She gave me her class ring from high school. When she was a Junior in high school she wanted a class ring, but she also needed a dress to wear to the prom with my Dad. Her parents could not afford both, so she chose the dress to wear to the prom. When my Dad found out about it, he gave her the money to buy the ring. She chose not to buy her school's standard ring, but bought one to look just like his (he went to a different high school).
I'm now wearing it on a chain around my neck. His gift to her, and now her gift to me.
That is a wonderful link to him. I'm hoping that you get to meet him soon!

What a terrific gift. Your mom is great. Happy birthday, when was yours?
I'm pulling for you to make this connection, and so glad you're willing to be patient while the bridge is built.
