Saddam Hussein's execution is but an hour and a half away. Although I am not a supporter of the war in Iraq, I am a supporter of removing Saddam Hussein from power. ANY power. I am also not a supporter of the death penalty, so this event poses a series of contradictions for me. If it were me who were deciding, I think I would lock him up in an Iraqi prison for the rest of his life and pipe in "Imagine" by John Lennon...over...and...over...and...over...again.
I'm not good at handing out punishments...ask my husband. I guess that's why I'm not a judge, or a President or any such thing.
No doubt about it, however. The world will be a better place tomorrow, when we awake to a world rid of such an animal.
I'm hoping that there isn't a huge backlash over this execution. I am no fan of the death penalty--for anyone.

I do not believe in the death penalty and this brought tears to my eyes. While I see where some people needed to see that he will never be in power again, I don't believe anyone has the right to take a life. Because I do believe in a higher power that decides that. Great thought of playing Imagine for the rest of his life not stop. But the world is a better place without someone who killed his own sons in laws. I love mine and can't imagine this.
