My kids, Payton & Darren just gave me some great news. This week is spirit week at school and to kick it off, they have a "no homework night" tomorrow. Now, of course I had to put on my sad Mommy face and say "What? No homework? Must be nice. No wonder our kids are so far behind compared to the rest of the world..."
Once I was done with my sob story, I did an about face with the biggest shit-eating grin on my face. An extra night with no struggles or complaining or arguing. We can actually have a nice evening together. One extra shot at peace and harmony. **She smiles and sighs** Oh! I should go to Trader Joes and get a nice bottle of wine...
On a totally unrelated note, I taught myself to knit a couple of weeks ago. I did a couple of practice "things" and made my rookie mistakes on them. Now I'm working on a chenille (sp?) scarf that is looking quite nice, thank you. It is a cranberry red and I'm really torn between giving it to someone and keeping it myself. Anyway, maybe I'll take a photo of it and share it with you!
Weird, isn't it? I hate it when my kid has homework more than she does...

Please share! I want to see! I never made it past my rookie mistakes. Perhaps I shouldn't have tried to start with a sweater. A nice scarf sounds like fun!
