9 Loads...A DAY!

So, I'm watching this show called "We Have 15 Children" and I feel like such a whiner.

They are going over what the wife's day is like (while the husband is at work trying desperately to bring home enough money to support this brood). This wonder woman does an average of 9 loads of laundry...A DAY! And she doesn't have a "tumble dryer." They are British call things by "funny" names. She dries everything on "the line."

She also spends about 3 hours a day ironing. I can hear all of you saying something like what I said when I heard this...f*^k the ironing! Who has that many clothes that require ironing? Now I'm watching her cook dinner. She says "I don't cater to fussy eaters." No shit. They are having chicken nuggets, fries and baked beans for dinner tonight. "At the table don't EVER leave your seat, or someone will take it" according to one of the kids. She feeds 6 at a time. They spend $200/week on food. Now that's an interesting one because I spend about $600/month for 2 kids! Clearly I'm buying more expensive stuff. We do have better dinners than noted above (most of the time).

They buy 96 pints of milk a week. 14 - 16 loaves of bread. 36 rolls of toilet paper A WEEK! The poor woman has to wait until her two oldest boys are home from school to do the shopping because it takes 3 of them to get all of the stuff.

They say they get a really good nights sleep every night because they are so exhausted. NO KIDDING! But if you're like me, you're assuming that they are either devout Catholics, devout Mormons, or they were both absent the day they taught birth control in school. I don't know that part of the story, I started watching it late.

There are 2 kids who are grown and gone (with kids of their own). They have a baby, and the two oldest are old enough to go to university. They have ONE bathroom!

Now I think its time I got off my arse and did something useful. Thank god for Depo Provera.

I just read this hysterical post on The Huffington Post written by Bill Maher. It is about a rule (law?) in Florida (of course, where else?) that requires that all library volunteers be drug tested. As noted in Maher's piece, the average age of library volunteers is between 60 and 85.

And Maher's comment about the last time a librarian did anything stupid and reckless while on drugs is not to be missed. You gotta read the whole thing.

We have WAY too many other things to be worried about. Especially in Florida. How about drug testing the Governor and the people he has appointed? How about spending the money and time on something more productive and important like, oh, say the homeless problem, the crime rate, the state of health care?

Assault with a dead-ly Chihuahua

Couldn't believe this article on CNN about a woman who assaulted another woman with a dead Chihuahua puppy. Freedom Folks feels the same way I do!

Read the story and just visualize this. It is highly bizzar, unreal, stupid. I think woman forgot to take her meds or something because this is just not the way that the human brain is supposed to work.
