I started setting up my home office yesterday and got it at least to the point where I could wake up this morning and enjoy it. This photo is the view from my chair. It may not be seaside or a fantastic library or an inspirational art loft, but it is my own and I love it.
Virginia Woolf was right, a woman (and a man, I think) does need a room of one's own. Some place that exists for the sole reason of welcoming you and inviting you to do whatever it is you need to do in that moment. Read, write, sleep, dance, or just be still.
I will be nurturing this space, and therefore myself over the coming days, weeks, and months. I think we have some wonderful times ahead, this space and I.
