A new look, and now searching for a new title for my blog. It was suggested, very cleverly, by Left Coast Mom that I move from "A Mom on a Mission" to "Mom's Mission Accomplished." I love it except for two things...I hate to be pre-mature on considering my motherly role as over. Darren is still 16 and Payton, although he is 18, still needs some parenting. The other is that I wish I could just say "Mission Accomplished" but again, Left Coast Mom pointed out that I would then attract of the right-wing Bush loving folks that probably would be very disappointed (and dare I say angry) when the got here and discovered what a lefty I truly am.
And so here I am...in search of a new title. Very fitting in so many ways as I find myself about to turn 42 and with so many questions about who I really am and what I really want and so many changes in my life. If I look back just 18 short months, I can honestly say that I live in a VERY different world than I did then.
I'm thinking about a title that incorporates the concept "It's not the destination, it's the journey." Which is why I chose this new design. I wish it were a woman on the beach, but this is good enough for now.
So any thoughts that anyone has would be much appreciated. I think that a new purpose for this blog would inspire me to write more (because I certainly couldn't be writing any LESS!). I've been doing this since 2004 and it would be a shame to stop now.
A mom's mission is NEVER accomplished, ever... I speak as the mom of a 23 year old(today!) in Africa and a 19 year old home from college. I am not the most creative sort in the world--but what do you want this blog to be about? Do you have a theme? Is it even really so much about being a mom--as it is being in a state of flux in your life? You see, I bring up more questions than answers. *sigh*
